Over the last few days I’ve really been thinking hard about my strategy for getting out of debt. There is so much out there about systems, plans and blueprints you can follow to get your balance sheet back into the positive. But after late nights of reading up on the newest trends and theory, I’ve concluded that the one thing you need to know about getting out of debt is something no one is talking about.
Here it is: You need to take massive action.
Do you want to get rid of your debt? Good. Then you are going to have to take action. Not just cut back on the grocery bill this month. No, you’re going to have to do more. You’re going to have to start attacking your debt problem like you would a mongoose attacking a cobra: fast, aggressive, and furiously.
You can’t sit around and play video games for hours on end. Instead, you have to get out in the world and start creating value. You can’t sit back on nights off and eat Cheetos in front of the television. No, you have to start creating multiple streams of revenue, leveraging your time and talents, and focusing your energy towards kicking debt in the face.
That might not be what you want to hear, but it is what you need to hear. The number one strategy for getting out of debt is taking action, taking a proactive disposition to your life and deciding that you’re going to do something different now so that you can enjoy a debt free life later.
Today, decide you’re going to take massive action to eliminate your debt. Then, go do it.
It’s going to be a journey, not a single moment, that gets you and I out of debt. Start today.
